The Russian Federation is struggling not only with a shortage of soldiers in the army – losses suffered at the front have caused the warehouses with equipment and ammunition to empty. In connection with this Moscow decided to seek help from its ally, Belarus.

BelNovosti, citing its source in the Belarusian Ministry of Defense, reported that Alexander Lukashenkoissued instructions regarding the transfer of some military equipment from combat units to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation”.

War in Ukraine. Russia lacks equipment, turns to Belarus for help

The source stressed that the move of the Belarusian leader is caused by “urgent request of the Russian side” due to the losses they suffer in the fight against Ukraine and shortages of equipment, both in the Kursk region and in other directions.

This is not the first time Vladimir Putin seeks help from Alexander Lukashenko to reinforce his army with his resources. Already in 2022, when the Russian Federation launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russian leader sent a similar request. This took place at a time when Moscow was suffering significant losses.

As we read, Lukashenko then handed over to his Russian counterpart, among other things, T-72A tanks, ammunition, weapons, military vehicles and Kamaz and Ural trucks.

Belarus has emptied its warehouses? They are transferring equipment from active units

BelNovosti stressed that two years ago the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation was not adequately prepared to deliver such an amount of equipment that would correspond to the scale of the war operations. The current situation Moscow seems to be similar, and additionally, to the probable surprise of Vladimir Putin, a new front has opened, only not in Ukraine, but in his own country in the Kursk region.

“While in 2022 Belarus transferred ammunition and equipment from warehouses, now we are talking about transferring resources from combat units. This may mean that Belarus' warehouses and arsenals were then emptied” – noted in the publication.

It was also added that now Alyaksandr Lukashenka can respond to the request of his ally only equipment from active units.
