– Marriage equality, the dignity of transgender people, the rights of children raised in rainbow families and the effective prosecution of hate crimes are urgent issues that require specifics – emphasize the organizers of Saturday's Equality Parade. On Saturday, they demonstrate their demands on the streets of Warsaw. They set off at 2 p.m.

This time, the parade participants follow a new route. “The Town of Equality will welcome you on the Vistula River, near the Warsaw Mermaid monument. Today, the boulevards are the center of city life and that is where it will be heading. The parade will start near the Women's Rights Roundabout (Dmowskiego). Greetings to the Palace and at 2:00 p.m. we will set off towards PowiÅ›le” – they announced even before the event starts.

The participants include representatives of the diplomatic corps, the Razem party, the Campaign Against Homophobia and the Democracy Action.

The organizers also informed about their demands. “We want the new route to herald new times when we no longer have to explain that we are not a threat, but we still have to stand up for basic rights firmly and without any concessions,” they wrote in the description of the event on social media.

“Let us remind you that marriage equality, the dignity of transgender people, the rights of children raised in rainbow families and the effective prosecution of hate crimes are urgent matters that require specifics, not assurances and shifting responsibility for failures. We don't want promises, we want specifics!” – they added.

The last rainbow parade this year

The event is the last such event organized by the LGBT community this year. Let us remind you, Last Saturday, a parade took place through the streets of the capital with the slogan “The time for equality is now”. The event participants included RafaÅ‚ Trzaskowski, mayor of Warsaw.
