The suspect of causing a fatal accident on Woronicza Street is in custody. The court decided to extend the pre-trial detention for another two months.
“The Warsaw-Mokotów District Court extended the detention for another two months against the perpetrator of the road traffic disaster that occurred on August 13, 2024 on Woronicza Street in Warsaw, as a result of which two women died,” the spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw announced on Wednesday prosecutor Piotr Antoni Skiba.
August 13 last year the driver of a passenger car drove into a bus stop on Woronicza Street. One person died on the spot, five, including a 3.5-year-old child, were taken to hospital. One of the injured people died in hospital.
Accident on Woronicza
The man was charged with causing a land traffic disaster that resulted in the death of two people. He faces from six months to eight years in prison.
According to investigators, the man exceeded the speed limit in that place. He had also previously had his driving license taken away.
