The prosecutor's office published an arrest warrant for Ivan Railianu, suspected of murder. An investigation into this case is being conducted in connection with the discovery of the bodies of four men in a vacant building at 71 Grzybowska Street in March this year.
According to the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, 11 people are considered suspects in the case, including two people – Andria S. and Ion B. – who were charged with committing acts under Art. 148 par 1. (homicide – ed.). Penal Code and a preventive measure in the form of temporary arrest is applied to these suspects.
– Seven suspects: Paweł M., Viktoria V., Iryna S. – P., Tetiana K., Mykola R., Volodymyra H., Mateusz C., were charged with committing an act under Art. 240 pairs 1. Penal Code, i.e. failure to report a crime. Against one suspect – Maksym H., suspected of committing an act under Art. 158 paragraph 1 of the Penal Code (Fight and battery – ed.), libertarian preventive measures were applied – said Piotr Antoni Skiba, spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw.
During the case, permission was granted for the burial of the bodies of three victims, i.e. Roman Z., Konrad P. and Bartosz P. The prosecutor also announced that it is planned to issue a decision to exclude the materials from separate proceedings in order to file an indictment against persons suspected of committing an act art. 240 pairs 1 of the Penal Code (Punishable failure to report a crime – ed.).
An arrest warrant for a murder suspect
– During the proceedings so far, it was established that a citizen of Ukraine, Ivan Railianu, s. Dmitrija, on an unspecified date in the period from March 1, 2024 to April 1, 2024 in Warsaw, acting with possible intention, murdered a man of unknown identity, whose body was revealed in on April 7, 2024 in a residential premises at ul. Grzybowska 71.
The perpetrator allegedly struck the man numerous times with his hands all over the body and kicked him, causing multiple injuries, including skull fractures, rupture of the kidney and spleen, and rib fractures with lung damage, which resulted in the victim's death.
– Moreover, on an unspecified date in the period from March 1, 2024 to April 1, 2024 in Warsaw at ul. Grzybowska 71, acting together and in consultation with Gennadi B. and Maksym H., beat up a man nicknamed Ryży, exposing the injured party to direct danger of loss of life or serious bodily harm.
Due to Ivan Railianu's escape and hiding, the court decided on a preventive measure in the form of temporary arrest for 14 days. The district prosecutor ordered a search for the suspect with an arrest warrant.
– Anyone who knows about the whereabouts of the suspect Ivan Railianu, sister Dmitry, should inform the nearest police station. Whoever obstructs or frustrates criminal proceedings, helping the perpetrator of a crime to avoid criminal liability, in particular whoever hides the perpetrator, creates false evidence, or covers up traces of the crime, shall be subject to the penalty of imprisonment from three months to five years – appealed prosecutor Skiba.
The search for the suspect is carried out by the Search and Identification Team of the Criminal Department of the Police Headquarters in Zielona Góra.
A macabre discovery in a vacant building on Grzybowska Street
Let's remember: to macabre discovery it took place in March in one of the tenement houses on Grzybowska Street. As we reported, the bodies of three people were found in the vacant building. The case was reported to the police by a witness who said that there were four victims, so the services were looking for a fourth body.
The police soon confirmed our unofficial findings. – We found two bodies on different floors. These bodies were covered with garbage, (covered – ed.) with blankets and various types of objects – said the spokesman of the Warsaw Police Headquarters, Sub-Inspector Robert Szumiata.
He added that police officers from the laboratory, forensic technicians, and dogs trained to search for corpses immediately appeared on the spot. – The enormous amount of work we have undertaken since Sunday until today, as the activities are still ongoing today, led to the discovery of two more bodies yesterday. One body was covered with earth on the ground floor, another man's body was located on the upper floor. These bodies were in various states of decomposition. This may indicate that they had been there for at least several months, the policeman described on Tuesday. He added that these were the bodies of men.
