Border guards detained a 36-year-old Romanian citizen at Chopin's airport sought after on the basis of the red note Interpol and the European arrest warrant.
The Vistula Border Guard Department informs about the man's detention. The man on Wednesday, May 7 flew to Warsaw from New York. After the inspection at Chopin's airport, he was detained.
As explained in the communiqué, a 36-year-old Romanian citizen was wanted on the basis of Romania's Redpol's red note issued by the Romania authorities for committed traffic offenses and the European Arrest Warrant for crimes against order and public security.
Border guards confirmed the validity of the searches and stopped the man. Then he was transported to rooms for people detained at the SG facility in Warsaw.
In custody, he will be waiting for a decision to deport to Romania.
