A moment of inattention could end in a drama. A three -year -old on a bicycle entered a busy street. There was no adult nearby who would look after him. City guards reacted in time.
On Monday, after 13 o'clock, city guards, going to intervene, along Korsaka Street in Praga-Północ noticed a little boy on a children's bicycle. “From afar, they noticed his clumsy maneuvers and the fact that the child is moving unattended,” they described in the communiqué. They slowed down to look at the little one.
“Before they could react, the three -year -old drove violently on the road, just in front of the police car. The officers immediately ran to the boy. The child was clearly scared and nervous,” the city guards said.
In addition, a language barrier appeared. The communication was hindered by the fact that the boy did not understand Polish.
Assuming that someone could report the disappearance of the toddler, the guards informed the police. The officers also tried to look for the child's carers – one stayed with the boy and the other went to the nearby courtyards.
“She recognized her son with surprise”
At one point a woman approached the guard who remained with the child. “She was surprised to recognize her son. She explained that she left her baby under her grandfather's care, but apparently he had to escape.
Together with policemen, city guards verified the identity of the mother and child. They confirmed their kinship. The officers instructed the woman about care responsibilities and threats arising from inattention, reminding that in such situations it can easily be tragedy. Fortunately, this time everything ended well.
Policemen remind you that young children react quickly to stimuli and are not aware of threats, which is why they require constant supervision. “Even a short moment of inattention can have serious consequences. Children should also be equipped with a 'Niezgubka band' with a telephone number of a guardian, which is very helpful in the event of getting lost ' – they suggested.
