Warsaw. Reconstruction of the intersection of Suwak and Domaniewska. There will be changes for bus passengers

The reconstruction of the bicycle path and the intersection of Suwak and Domaniewska streets in Warsaw's Służewiec district is entering the next stage. A new traffic organization will be introduced from Tuesday. This will particularly affect passengers of buses on line 218.

At the request of the Mokotów district, road workers connect the bicycle path along Suwak Street with the existing path on Domaniewska. As part of the same investment, the intersection of both streets will be rebuilt. It is supposed to be taken out, which will make it safer.

They will close a part of Domaniewska Street

The next stage of work is approaching, which will involve the relocation of underground installations. This will change the traffic organization.

“From Tuesday, January 7, in the morning, a section of Domaniewska Street before the intersection with Suwak will be closed. Drivers coming from Postępu Street will go as far as the Domaniewska 52 office complex. The detour will lead through Konstruktorska Street. Drivers will drive along Suwak Street as before, but the lanes will be narrowed up to three meters. This traffic organization will be in force until the end of January,” the capital city hall says in a statement.

The next stage of work is planned for March. Then the contractor will occupy one half of the intersection, then the other, and there will be alternating traffic on Suwak Street.

Changes in bus routes

From Tuesday, January 7, buses on line 218 will not reach the terminus at the Wilanowska metro station. The route will be shortened to the Number Pi roundabout and the Osiedle Nowy Mokotów stop.

“The Wilanowska metro station and the Osiedle Pozytyczny Mokotów stop will be connected by buses of the Z18 replacement line. From the metro station they will run along Aleja Wilanowska, Wołoska, Domaniewska, Postępu and Konstruktorska, and from Osiedle Pozytyczny Mokotów to the metro: Konstruktorska, Wołoska and Aleja Wilanowska,” the city hall says.

The operation of line 308 will be suspended.
