Warsaw. The trial on the murder of a couple of pensioners from Germany has started

The trial of Zdzisław W. pseud. “Painted” accused of murdering a couple of German pensioners. The crime took place in 2012. The corpse was found near the Czerniakowski lake. Investigators came across a trail, thanks to the glove discovered at the crime scene, on which the genetic material of “painted” was found.

The indictment in this case was sent to the Warsaw court in October 2024, and the first hearing took place on Monday.

Repeatedly punished, among others For robberies and attempted murder of his son Zdzisław W., he was accused of committing two killings using a 6.35 mm caliber pistol, with the 69-year-old made these acts in conditions of return to crime, i.e. recidivism. In addition, he was accused of having a firearm without the required permit.

He did not confess

The man pleaded not guilty. At the Monday trial he came with hand -saved notebooks, whose cards he read for several hours, referring to the allegations.

He stated, among others, that in the place where the murder he was, he was never, he did not contact the victims and that the vehicle traveled by German pensioners was transported by drugs. – At the place where these people were killed, there were drug transactions – he said in the courtroom.

In his explanations, he indicated that each investigation had its own motive, and there is no one. “Should I shoot innocent people and deprive them of their lives?” (…) I did not shoot these people. It is not known to me who was the perpetrator of this crime – he said.

He noted that in his opinion the police and prosecutor's office did not solve the matter of this murder, nor “documented real facts.” Zdzisław W. also referred to the issue of a glove found on which his DNA traces were discovered. He assured that he did not know where she came from and he was “very peculiar” for him, that it was found 127 meters from the crime scene only after three days.

– I didn't throw her there. (…) Even an amateur knows how developed a criminal technique in these times. (…) Knowing about it (…) I assure you that I would not make such a mistake – said the accused.

He added that the found glove fits on the left hand and he is right -handed. “The right -handed person would not shoot with his left hand,” he emphasized.

He assessed that the investigation is “sewn with thick threads and enlisted by a mystification, which is guided by full improvisation.”

During the Monday hearing, a witness also testified from the prison. He said he had once heard a conversation about the murder of a couple of pensioners.

Judge Paweł Dobosz appointed the next date of the hearing on April 8.

Corpse with gunshot wounds in a motorhome

On May 19, 2012, a corpse of a woman with gunshot wounds and a seriously wounded man were found in Warsaw's Siekierki in a parked red camper. 63-year-old Silke G. died from four shots in the head and chest. 62-year-old Peter H. was shot once, in the head. Then the killer inflicted a cut wound of his neck. Peter H. was hospitalized, but he could not be saved.

In the course of the proceedings, it was established that the victims of the crime were German citizens, pensioners traveling around Europe, who were heading to Ukraine in connection with the European Football Championships in Euro 2012, who was coming soon.

The District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw announced that at the scene of the incident and in its immediate area investigators secured many traces and evidence, which were then subjected to forensic analysis and examination.

– It was essential for the matter (…) among the things belonging to the injured black and red glove, at which the presence of GSR molecules with remains after a shot and DNA from the injured citizen of Germany and the DNA of male origin, which came from a person other than the victim, said the spokesman of the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, prosecutor, prosecutor, Piotr Antoni, Piotr Antoni, Skiba.

He emphasized that many witnesses were questioned during the investigation, various investigative versions were checked, including The conflict against the background of unsuccessful drug transactions, in which victims could be involved, or a robbery attack using weapons and the execution of a serial killer.

A breakthrough in the investigation after 10 years

– The proceedings were originally discontinued due to the fact that the perpetrator was not detected. The breakthrough came after over 10 years, in mid-2023, when as a result of constant monitoring of the case by prosecutors from the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw and the analytical and investigation activities undertaken by officers from the Archives of the 10th Police Headquarters, the Police Headquarters managed to determine the perpetrator of the crime-reported prosecutor Skiba.

He noted that the DNA profile found on the aforementioned glove turned out to be compatible with the DNA of Zdzisław W., a vice -trail of tailoring and masonry. The man has been punished many times, and in the moment of charges he was punished with imprisonment at ZK in Wrocław for attempted the murder of his son. It was established that on the day of committing the crimes he was not deprived of liberty.

– The perpetrator in the course of the investigation consistently did not admit to committing the offenses he was accused of and presented his defense line. Variographical examination carried out with the consent of the suspicious, i.e. using the so -called Lies detector, strengthened the evidence, indicating the perpetration of the suspect in the scope of the alleged acts – said Prosecutor Skiba.
