A few weeks before the murder at the University of Warsaw, the university warned members and members of the community:

Do not record by phone in an emergency. Your life and health are more valuable than a movie to insert in social media.

And yet in the last days of the platform are full of recordings with the drama that took place at the university.

– A lot of people who witnessed this event did not intervene. We also noted such strange behaviors that some people made films, recording the whole event – said Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesman for the Minister of the Interior and Administration on Thursday, referring to the murder at the UW campus.

We asked how the correct reaction of witnesses of the tragedy should look like in his opinion. He stated that in such situations, “intentions” should be measured. – I either defend or call 112, I inform the police. You can also shout, react – pointed out Dobrzyński. He noted that these are “unconditional and natural” reactions.

Beasts or victims?

And what reaction is the recording of dramatic events by phone?

Psychotherapist Joanna Sokolińska notices, referring to frequent and outraged comments in social media that the matter is not so black and white. In one of the comments she noticed that someone was wondering what “beast” had to be.

– You don't necessarily have to be a beast – comments Sokolińska. And he adds: – What language we describe people who threw these terrible images into the media, shows how we are shocked by what happened. “This”, or a brutal crime in a safe and well -known place and the second – immortalizing and providing its entry.
