The verdict was passed in the case of the leaders of the Women's Strike. The court found Marta Lempart, Klementyna Suchanow and Agnieszka Czerederecka-Fabin innocent. It is about organizing in the fall and winter of 2020 the so-called black protests after the Constitutional Tribunal's ruling on abortion. The judgment is not final.

The verdict was announced by Judge Tomasz Julian Grochowicz, who recalled that the reason for the spontaneous gatherings that took place all over Poland was the Constitutional Tribunal's judgment on abortion.

– There is no doubt that Mrs. Marta Lempart, Mrs. Agnieszka Czerederecka-Fabin, Mrs. Klementyna Suchanow were the faces of these spontaneous gatherings, these protests that took place on the street. However, there is no doubt that it was a mobilization of women and not only women to show opposition to the restrictive violation of their rights – emphasized Judge Grochowicz in his justification.

The decision is not final.

They faced eight years in prison

In the summer of 2021, an indictment was brought to court against three leaders of the National Women's Strike in connection with organizing protests against the tightening of abortion law in Poland. The prosecutor's office accuses them of endangering the lives and health of many people due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Three people were accused: Marta Lempart, Klementyna Suchanow and Agnieszka Czerederecka (they consented to the publication of their image and personal details). The charge included “causing danger to the life and health of many people and causing an epidemiological threat in the form of the possibility of infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus and the spread of the infectious disease COVID-19 by organizing and conducting marches in October, November and December 2020 on the streets of Warsaw “.

Moreover, Marta Lempart was accused of insulting police officers and publicly praising the commission of crimes consisting in destroying the facades of church buildings and maliciously obstructing the public performance of a religious act of the church. She was also acquitted of these charges.
