New pickup method

Thanks to the new resolution, adopted by the capital's councilors, the inhabitants of the capital can reflect unnecessary clothing and textiles to mobile points of selective collection of municipal waste (MPSZOKs), which are available in 42 locations in the city, on selected days of the week.

Mobile points of selective municipal waste collection take waste in designated locations on Wednesdays from 11 to 18.30 and Saturdays from 9 to 16.30. A properly adapted car stops in each location, which is waiting for waste collection.

Financial penalties for non -compliance with the provisions

From the beginning of the year, the communes are required to receive unnecessary clothing and textiles from the inhabitants. Most cities offer residents the opportunity to get rid of used textiles at stationary or mobile points.

The authorities of Łódź present a different approach. By the end of January, there will be 50 containers for used clothing and textiles. The city has signed a contract with a company that will receive clothing thrown out by Łódź for free and after segregation. The first of the containers stood at the beginning of January at ul. Piotrkowska.

The legislator provided for financial penalties for non -compliance with the regulations related to segregation. The City Guard and the Police can apply a fine of up to 5,000 PLN for property owners who do not comply with municipal regulations. In addition, if the textiles are detected in mixed waste, the fees for their exports may be increased.

He can gain a second life

Good, undamaged clothing and textiles, such as bedding, towels, sheets or curtains, can also be handed over to other people or charity organizations. Numerous containers of non -governmental organizations and foundations are set up in Warsaw, intended for collecting clothing and textiles, including over 1,000 Polish -root containers. On the dedicated page You can find detailed information on this subject.

“It is worth remembering that unnecessary, but still suitable clothing can also be given to clothing stores, foundations, charity stores or handed over to those in need” – noted the town hall.
