Warsaw. Why the sirens out in Mokotów?

On Wednesday and Thursday in Mokotów, alarm sirens. This is how the residents' accounts. The problem is that no one knows the reason for their use. Nobody informed residents about planned tests.

According to residents' accounts, the sirens were to wrap around Wierzbno twice. The first time they could be heard on Wednesday around 3pm, the second time on Thursday around 13.15.

“Someone knows why alarm sirens joined today around 13.15 in Mokotów (around Wierzbno)? Man hears them and does not know how to react …”- asked one of the residents of Mokotów on Facebook.

“It's good that they do exercises and a system review, but if you justify use, a man will sooner think that the exercises again, and not that you have to shelter …” – noted another commentators.

“Policemen did not participate”

We asked about the case both the State Fire Service in Warsaw and the Police District Headquarters, responsible for the Mokotów area. In both cases, we learned that there was no report that would justify the use of alarm sirens.

– Policemen did not participate in any event that would involve the use of alarm sirens – says a spokeswoman for the Warsaw Police District Headquarters Warsaw II asp. Marta Haberska.

The town hall employee states that this is probably only tests, but reserves that there is no information on this subject.

– The only information we got were the entries of Internet users, which show that such signals in Mokotów took place. We were unable to determine what the cause could have been – admits the spokesman of the Mokotów District Office Tomasz Keller.

We also contacted the city in this matter. “The Capital Security Center did not conduct tests of alarm points (sirens) of the municipal alarm and warning system. According to this suggestion, we contacted the Voivodship Office. There, however, nothing is known about alarm sirens.
