In 2023, the average amount of municipal waste generated per capita of the Union was 511 kilograms. This is a small, because by 4 kilograms, a decrease in 2022 – according to Eurostat data. However, it was noted that, in comparison with 2013, the amount of waste per capita of Europe increased by 32 kilograms.
The infamous leader of the statement is Austriain which citizens produce on average 803 kg of waste per year. They occupy the next places Denmark (802 kg, data from 2022) and Luxembourg (712 kg).
Against this background, Poland is good with an average average of 367 kg per person, what gives us second place from the end. Only residents produce less waste Romania – 303 kg (data from 2022).

According to Eurostat data in 2023, at the level of the entire European Union, 48 percent were recycled with over 2.2 billion tons of municipal waste produced municipal waste. For comparison, in 2013 it was 37.2 percent. It was also reported that in 2023 22.5 percent the waste generated went to dumps.
