IMWM issued first degree alerts. Forecasters warn against dense fog and freezing precipitation, which may cause black ice. Check where the weather will be dangerous.
Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued level 1 warnings.
IMWM warnings – freezing precipitation
Light freezing drizzle is forecast, which may cause black ice. The warnings apply to the following voivodeships:
- Łódźcounties: Radomsko, Piotrków, Piotrków TrybunalskiOpoczno;
- Masovian Voivodeshippoviats: Przysucha, Radom, RadomSzydłowiec, Lipsk, Zwoleń;
- Świętokrzyskie;
- Lesser PolandMiechów and Proszowice counties;
- Podkarpackiecounties: Mielec, Tarnobrzeg, Tarnobrzeg, Kolbuszów, Stalowowolski, Niżański, Leżajsk, Rzeszów, RzeszówŁańcut, Przeworsk, Lubaczów, Jarosław, Przemyśl, Industry;
- Lublin Provincecounties: Opole, Kraśnik, Lublin, LublinŚwidnica, Janów, Biłgoraj, Zamość, ZamośćKrasnystaw, Chełm, ChełmHrubieszów, Tomaszów.
The warnings will be valid until 6 a.m. on Sunday.
IMWM warnings – dense fog
Level one alerts have also been issued for heavy fog. They are valid in the following voivodeships:
- West Pomeranian Voivodeshipin western and southwestern counties;
- Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeshipin southern and western counties;
- Lubuskie;
- Greater Poland;
- Lower Silesiain northern counties and in the following counties: Karkonosze, Jelenia GóraKarkonosze;
- Masovian Voivodeshipin the following counties: Płock, Płock, Gostynin.
Dense fog is observed and forecasted, within which visibility may be below 200 meters in some places, and locally 100 m. Warnings will be valid until 9 on Sunday.

What are IMWM first level warnings?
According to the IMWM definition, a first-degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from carrying out activities in the hazardous area, including delays caused by road traffic, disruptions to outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and developments in the weather situation.
