The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management warns of storms, which are possible already in the early morning hours. Forecasters also predict heavy rainfall.
Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued weather warnings.
IMWM first degree warnings – storms
Lowest level warnings before storms are valid for the eastern part of the country, in the following voivodeships:
- Warmia-Masuriain the eastern counties
- Podlasie;
- Masovianin the counties of Ostrołęka, Ostrów, Sokołów, Węgrów and Siedlce;
- Lublin;
- Subcarpathianin the following counties: Tarnobrzeg, Tarnobrzeg, Stalowa Wola, Nisko, Leżajsk, Przeworsk, Lubaczów, Jarosław, Przemyśl, IndustryRzeszow, Rzeszow and Kolbuszewski.
Thunderstorms are forecast, which in places will be accompanied by heavy rainfall of 20-30 l/sq m and wind gusts accelerating to 70 km/h. Hail will appear locally.
The warnings will be valid on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., for the north-eastern corners of the country from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., and in the Podkarpackie province from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.

What is the first-degree IMWM meteorological warning?
First-degree warning predicts conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and threaten health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from conducting activities in the area of the threat, including delays caused by traffic disruptions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and the development of the weather situation.
