IMWM announces Sunday as a sunny day, despite the morning fog in the east of the country. “Maximum temperature from 12 degrees C. in the east to 19 degrees C. in the west and south of the country. Weak and moderate wind, sometimes gusty, south-eastern” – we read on the 10th Institute.
Weather on Sunday, October 20
IMWM notes that it is sunny and dry weather should have a beneficial effect on the human body. “Only in Pomerania, during stronger wind gusts, a temporary weakening of favorable biometeorological conditions to neutral can be expected,” forecasters say.
Morning fog will mainly cover the Sudetes valleys and although it will limit visibility to up to 200 m, it should disappear quickly. The Sudetes are also the only area of the country where you can expect stronger winds, with gusts reaching up to 70 km/h. In other parts of the country, weak and moderate south-easterly winds. Rain we can expect only minor rainfall on the west coast at night. High temperatures at the end October – i.e. up to 18 degrees Celsius in the southwest of the country – should last until next weekend.
How to prepare for autumn?
In autumn, the connection between weather and mood and well-being becomes more visible. Even people who do not notice it on a daily basis can feel the effects of many visible changes in the environment, including: just with the loss of light. Institute of preparationł a guide on how to deal with them.
“During the cold season, the weather in Europe is shaped by a characteristic system of successive low pressure centers that arise over the Atlantic and then move east. Such circulation causes an increase in the dynamics of atmospheric processes, and in Poland it brings the dominance of cyclonic synoptic situations with fronts, typical for this season. atmospheric conditions. The weather is then characterized by high variability of biometeorological conditions, which is often a challenge for the physiology of many organisms – especially immature, weaker or poor health ones,” writes Joanna Wieczorek from IMWM.
The expert recommends spending time outdoors as often as possible, “because moderate meteorological stimuli harden the body.” Isolation from external conditions is discouraged, which prolongs the adaptation process. However, it is worth knowing moderation and when the weather is not favorable to our body, we should not exert ourselves.
“Exposure to natural lighting, even in the case of heavy cloud cover, strengthens the body's circadian rhythm and can improve mood. A good way will be various forms of recreation in open areas, matched to our fitness capabilities. Let's pay attention to the air quality, which in the autumn season may be low – let's follow the forecasts to plan activities in the best possible conditions, and if necessary, use e.g. smog masks. Let's also ensure effective rest during the day. The better we prepare for autumn and winter, the better we will cope with changes in our environment “- sums up Joanna Wieczorek.
