The Netherlands is paralyzed: The Dutch airport Schiphol canceled on Friday over a hundred flights due to strong winds caused by hurricane Darragh. Other flights are delayed, some by up to an hour. They have been crossing most of the country since morning very strong wind gusts.
Czech Republic closes roads: Weather it also destabilizes the situation in the Czech Republic. Heavy snowfall led to obstructions on the roads. Bad conditions: IMWM warns about dangerous weather conditions also in Poland. It predicts the occurrence of a strong one wind gusts up to 75/80 km/h among others in the province Opole, Silesia, Lesser Poland and Podkarpackie. Published there first degree warnings. In turn, warnings were issued for almost the entire eastern and southern part of the country icing. “The wet surface of roads and sidewalks is forecast to freeze, causing them to become icy. Temperature minimum from -4 degrees C to -1 degrees C, minimum temperature at the ground -5 degrees C,” says IMWM.
It's better to let go of the mountains: Very difficult conditions prevail in the Tatra National Park. It is valid in the Tatra Mountains avalanche danger. Additionally, during strong winds, branches and trees may fall on the trails. There is also icing. “Above the upper one border forest, a thin layer of snow covered older, frozen snow and ice. The trails are very slippery in places,” we read in the announcement. They warned that “the conditions for tourism are very difficult.” On Friday, December 6 even the cable car doesn't work to Kasprowy Wierch due to strong wind.
