In the Wejherowo district, the police caught two men suspected of mass and inhumane killing of almost 4 tons of rainbow trouts. The material losses they caused at the fish farm were estimated at at least PLN 100,000.
A few days ago, police officers from Wejherowo (Pomeranian Voivodeship) received a report that in one of the towns in the Wejherowo district, on a fish farm, there was a mass and inhumane killing of almost 4 tons of rainbow trout.
They determined that two residents of the Wejherowo district, aged 39 and 45, intentionally blocked the flow of water from the river to the ponds, thereby blocking the supply of oxygen.
– In this way, they killed fish, causing material losses of at least PLN 100,000. zloty. In addition, the men are suspected of stealing some of the fish, which further increased the farm's losses. The value of the stolen fish was estimated at approximately PLN 1,500. PLN – informs the press officer. The prosecutor's office applied preventive measures to the suspects in the form of police supervision, a ban on approaching the injured party and a ban on entering the fish farm.
They face up to 5 years in prison for their crimes.
