The police detained a 52-year-old resident of Włodawa (Lublin Voivodeship), wanted to serve a prison sentence. It all started when the man fell asleep while preparing a romantic dinner and burned the drumsticks. The smell of burning coming from the apartment attracted the fire brigade and police to the scene.
Yesterday, around 9:30 p.m., the police received a report that there was a burning smell coming from an apartment in a block of flats in Włodawa. On site, the officers found firefighters who forcibly opened the apartment door.
There was quite a lot of smoke inside.

“It turned out that the 52-year-old, apparently under the influence of alcohol, fell asleep on the bed while preparing a romantic dinner. Fortunately, apart from burnt thighs, no one was hurt,” writes aspirant Elwira Tadyniewicz from the District Police Headquarters in Włodawa in a statement.
After checking the systems, it turned out that he was wanted and had to serve a year in prison.
“The police detained a resident of the Włodawa commune who, instead of a romantic dinner, spent the evening in police custody. Today he will be transferred to a penitentiary unit, where, according to the court's instructions, he will serve a one-year prison sentence,” notes Asp. Tadyniewicz.
