12 spies in the hands of Ukrainians. They were interested in F-16s

The Security Service of Ukraine reported 12 detained spies who collected and shared information with Russian services about F-16s stationed at secret airports. “Some of the unmasked agents are deserters who voluntarily left the army,” the SBU said.

Security service Ukraine (SBU) announced on Tuesday that it had detected a network of Russian agents operating in the north and south of the country. 12 spies arrested.

According to the Ukrainian services, Russian agents provided Putin's troops with information about Ukrainian air defense systems. Additionally, they shared the probable locations of secret airfields where F-16s are based.

Ukrainian services reported that spies operated in five regions of Ukraine at the same time. “Some of the unmasked agents are deserters who voluntarily left the army. They were recruited by the Russian special services when they were hiding from justice,” reads the SBU statement.

According to Gazeta.ua, counterintelligence detained the organizer of the spy cell and his key accomplices. During the searches, mobile phones, information media, military documents and false ID cards were seized.

The agents operated individually, and their boss was in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The perpetrators face from eight years to life in prison and confiscation of property.
