Vacation in the UAE. What do Poles Need to Know Before the Trip?

The United Arab Emirates is a country in the Middle East, which consists of seven emirates. The only such place in the world, where the border between tradition and modernity is so strongly marked, as strongly intertwines with each other. Among the luxury and futuristic nature of the destinations, definitely, Dubai and Abu Dhabi come to the fore. Most recognizable, they are popular among tourists from all over the world.

The United Arab Emirates and coronavirus. On what terms?

All travelers to the United Arab Emirates must carry a printed negative test for COVID-19 (PCR) performed within 72 hours before departure.

Polish laboratories accredited by the Ministry of Health are accepted when crossing the external borders of the United Arab Emirates.

The rules of arrival in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi are different from those in other emirates.

IMPORTANT: Arrival in Abu Dhabi is subject to a negative test taken within 48 hours prior to departure. All travelers will also be tested upon arrival.

Quarantine

Poland is on the “Green List”, therefore arriving in the United Arab Emirates is not required to undergo quarantine.

United Arab Emirates – Transport

The UAE has an excellent traffic infrastructure, but the pedestrian environment is completely undeveloped. Therefore, it is highly recommended to consider renting a car. Rental prices are decreasing every year as the demand for rentals is increasing. If you are traveling with a family, it is better to rent a luxury minivan in Dubai for a comfortable stay.

Safety

The United Arab Emirates has one of the lowest crime rates in the world. And although thefts, robberies, or other dangerous incidents are extremely rare here, it is advisable to pay special attention in public places.

The greatest, but at the same time, potential threat of terrorist attack is due to the unstable situation in the region (war in Yemen).

When is the best time to go to the United Arab Emirates?

Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and other emirates should be visited when the weather is favorable for sightseeing, i.e. between September and April. Daytime temperature is about 24-26 degrees C, and prices are lower than in the high season.

In June, July and August there is unimaginable heat. 40 degrees C is the standard and in desert areas even 50 degrees C.

IMPORTANT: On the territory of the Emirates applies strict rules regarding dress in public places, both female and male. It is required to cover the body, covered arms, legs, breasts, also for men. Excessive nudity can even lead to arrest. The rules are less restrictive in tourist places or the capital. In hot weather, the best clothing will be linen, airy, and with long sleeves/legs.

Treatment and hospitalization in the United Arab Emirates

Medical care in the United Arab Emirates is of a very high standard, but also extremely expensive and chargeable.

Cost of individual medical services:

  • Visit to a general practitioner: about 315 PLN
  • Visit to a specialist doctor: 250-300 zÅ‚
  • Visit to a dentist: 250-300 zÅ‚
  • A day in hospital: 1000-2600 zÅ‚

Basic medicines do not require prescriptions.

IMPORTANT: Bringing medicines into the country is strictly regulated and controlled. Some drugs commonly available in Poland, in the UAE, may be prohibited or allowed in strictly defined quantities.

Outcome: What is worth knowing?

To the United Arab Emirates it is best to go in the period from September to April.

Waiting for tourists neat beaches, clean sea, nice hotels, many monuments, and modern buildings.

In the UAE medical costs are very high, so it is worth having the appropriate insurance.

Such a policy can be had for as little as 4 zł per day.
