From September 11, 2024the fee rates are changing for driving on toll sections of Autostrada Wielkopolska SA (AWSA) on the Nowy Tomyśl – Konin route.
The rate applicable from 6:00 a.m. on that day for driving each of the three 50 km sections of the motorway between Nowy Tomyśl and Konin will be:
- PLN 17 – Category 6 (motorcycles)
- PLN 34 – Category 1 (passenger cars with two axles)
- PLN 55 – Cat. 2 (motor vehicles with two axles, of which at least one is equipped with twin wheels, and motorcycles and motor vehicles with two axles with trailers)
- PLN 84 – Cat. 3 (motor vehicles with three axles and motor vehicles with two axles, of which at least one is equipped with twin wheels with trailers)
- PLN 127 – Category 4 (motor vehicles with more than three axles and motor vehicles with three axles with trailers)
- PLN 340 – Category 5 (oversized vehicles).
A2 toll hike. But not on the entire route
This is the second increase this year. The previous one was introduced in March. Introduction new AWSA's price list is explained by the “significant scale of investment and wash renovation works carried out by the Company, not only in the current year, but also those necessary to be carried out in the following years, and also high costs debt servicing, as well as the ever-increasing costs of maintaining the highway.”
“The dynamically growing scale of expenses results, among others, from investment and replacement obligations imposed on the Company by the provisions of the concession agreement, the continuing increase in inflation, especially in the construction and assembly services sector, and the consistently high interest rates,” we read further.
The cost of driving on the Wielkopolska Motorway on the Świecko – Nowy Tomyśl route remains unchanged. Drivers of category 1 vehicles pay PLN 18 for driving 106 km. The rate for motorcycles on the Świecko – Nowy Tomyśl section, where toll rates set by the Ministry of Infrastructure apply, is the same as for passenger cars.
In 2025, automatic toll collection on the A2 motorway will take place
Highway Wielkopolska SA has begun construction of an electronic toll collection system east of Poznań, using license plate reading, the so-called video tolling. “This is a convenience that guarantees users high quality of services and reliability, while maintaining comfort, safety and smooth travel,” we read.
The completion of the works is planned for December 2024, while the launch of the service is planned for the first quarter of 2025. If the Minister of Infrastructure agrees to introduce the same solution also on the section between Świecko and Nowy Tomyśl managed by Autostrada Wielkopolska II SA, the video tolling service will be available to users on the entire section of the A2 motorway from Świecko to Konin.
