IMWM warns about dangerous weather. In northern Poland, there will be a danger from strong winds, which may gust up to 95 kilometers per hour. Heavy rainfall is expected in the southeast. First and second level warnings apply.
Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued level one and level two warnings on a three-level, ascending scale.
Second degree IMWM warnings – strong wind
Second degree alerts for strong winds have been issued in the following voivodeships:
- Pomeranianin the following counties: Puck, Wejherowo, Lębork, Słupsk, Słupsk;
- West Pomeranian Voivodeshipin the SÅ‚awno district.
Strong winds are forecast there, with an average speed of 40 to 55 kilometers per hour, with gusts of up to 95 km/h, from the south-west and west. Warnings in the Pomeranian Voivodeship will expire at midnight on Sunday. However, in the province West Pomeranian Voivodeship, alarms will be valid until 18 on Saturday.
First degree IMWM warnings – strong wind
First degree warnings against strong winds apply in the following voivodeships:
- West Pomeranian Voivodeshipin poviats located in the central belt of the region, where alarms will be valid until 12 on Saturday;
- Pomeranianin central poviats, where alarms will be valid until 3 p.m. on Saturday;
- Warmian-Masurian Voivodeshipin the following counties: ElblÄ…g, ElblÄ…gBraniewskie, where warnings will be valid until 15 on Saturday.
Strong winds with an average speed of 30 to 40 km/h, gusting up to 75 km/h, from the south-west are forecast to occur on the coast.
First degree IMWM warnings – heavy rainfall
In addition, forecasters warn of heavy rainfall in the province. Podkarpackie in the following counties: Lubaczów, Jarosław, Przemyśl, IndustryBieszczady, Lesko, Sanok, KrosnoKrosno.
Moderate and sometimes heavy rainfall is forecast. The forecast amount of rainfall will be from 40 to 55 liters per square meter.
The alerts will go into effect on Saturday at 10 a.m. and expire on Sunday at 10 a.m.
