Funds are still being sought to support energy consumers in 2025, according to the statement of the Minister of Climate and Environment, Paulina Hennig-Kloska. She added that next year's budget has earmarked PLN 2 billion for this purpose.
– For natural reasons, the last few days have been dominated by a discussion about measures to counteract the effects of floods and rebuild flood-affected areas, so energy prices for next year still have some time and have faded into the background – Hennig-Kloska told reporters on Monday.
Energy prices and support funds
– The funds secured in the budget for the purposes of the maximum price and support for people in the area of ​​energy prices have been preserved and are there, but we are still looking for additional funds for this, but there was no opportunity to talk to the Minister of Finance. We agreed, but the conversation did not take place due to the fact that other tasks became a priority, she added.
At the beginning of September, the minister announced that PLN 4.4 billion would be needed to extend the maximum energy price until 2025, while the budget currently includes PLN 2 billion.
On Monday, the Ministry of Climate also announced 2 million 240 thousand. applications for energy vouchers at the end of the previous week as part of support for energy consumers in the current heating season.
Maximum electricity price
The current protection act specifies the maximum the price of electricity among others for households at the level of PLN 500/MWh; it is valid from July 1 to December 31, 2024.
The Act also provides for: energy voucher in the amount from PLN 300 to PLN 1,200 for households with the lowest income. The recruitment of voucher applications lasted from August 1 to September 30.
