– We have already taken action – we are working to abolish the collection of premiums on the sale of real estate, land and cars from January 1. This will certainly come into force, it has already been included in the government's work list, so that from January 1, entrepreneurs will not have to pay sales tax. fixed assets – Finance Minister Andrzej DomaĆski said on Thursday on RMF FM radio.
The health insurance premium is one of the topics around which coalition partners have been constantly talking in the context of the budget act. Poland 2050, PSL and the Left had their own, very divergent proposals for changes regarding this contribution. The ministries of finance and health also presented their project in March.
The introduction of favorable and clear rules for calculating health insurance contributions for entrepreneurs is one of the points of the government's coalition agreement Donald Tusk.
Currently, the health insurance contribution for employees is 9%. The same amount is paid by business operators on the tax scale. Entrepreneurs paying a flat tax pay a contribution of 4.9%, and those paying a flat-rate tax – three levels of lump-sum contribution depending on revenue.
Together with the so-called The Polish Order introduced the obligation for entrepreneurs to pay health insurance premiums also on the sale of fixed assets.
“I think the increase will be in 2026”
The Minister of Finance also answered the question about the increase in the funeral allowance. He emphasized that the government is interested in this increase, but there are no funds in the 2025 budget to increase the funeral allowance
– I think the increase will be in 2026, said the minister.
The current amount of funeral allowance, which, in accordance with Art. 80 of the Act of December 17, 1998 on pensions and pensions from the Social Insurance Fund is PLN 4,000, effective from March 1, 2011.
DomaĆski: we have interest rates that are among the highest in Europe
Minister DomaĆski also assessed that interest rates are high and among the highest in Europe. He added that bank analysts “currently expect that the Monetary Policy Council will cut interest rates by 100 basis points, maybe even by 150 basis points.” He also said that by the end of the year inflation will grow.
– This year we will see a slight increase in inflation, to approximately 5%, after which the process of disinflation will begin and I think that then inflation will be stable at low levels for 3 years – said the Minister of Finance.
