Michał Dworczyk's words about the merger of PiS with Sovereign Poland and Zbigniew Ziobro have received wide attention in recent days. – I talked to Dworczyk's allies and his colleagues from Morawiecki's faction. They say: Michał was supposed to screw up, but he exaggerated a bit – commented Konrad Piasecki in the program “Kuluary” on TVN24. Together with Arleta Zalewska and Maja Wójcikowska, they wondered what was behind this politician's political “hitting his head against the wall”.
– The merger of PiS with Sovereign Poland will distance us from victory in the elections. I am against such a solution – said the PiS MEP on September 30 in “Rozmowa Piaseckiego” on TVN24 Michał Dworczyk. He stated that the Sovereign Poland environment “is largely to blame for the lost elections in 2023.” ABOUT Zbigniew Ziobro he said that “in politics you cannot be – with apologies – a calculating cynic playing only for yourself.”
Dworczyk's words resonated widely. The behind-the-scenes of this statement were discussed in the “W Kuluarach” program on TVN24 by journalists – Konrad Piasecki, TVN24 reporter Maja Wójcikowska and TVN “Fakty” reporter Arleta Zalewska.
Behind the scenes of Dworczyk's words. “He meant exactly what he said.”
– I guessed that Michał Dworczyk would not be happy about this merger (PiS with Sovereign Poland – ed.), but the strength with which he attacked Zbigniew Ziobro, with which he opposed this merger, surprised even me. Revealing a little behind the scenes – he had everything carefully prepared. These were theses that he read from a piece of paper and he wanted to say exactly what he said – commented Konrad Piasecki.
Arleta Zalewska drew attention to the moment when the former head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister said these words. – He already knew that this absorption or agreement would take place, that it was already a fact. In fact, he knew that two members of Sovereign Poland would have the position of vice-president (in the new PiS management – ed.), because this had already been agreed. Moreover – according to my information – he also knew that Zbigniew Ziobro had personally visited Nowogrodzka in recent weeks, worked on this agreement, agreed on certain details and, of course, met with Jarosław Kaczyński – she said.
– So when he attacked Zbigniew Ziobro, he actually knew that he was doing it symbolically so that voters could hear it – she added.
“Michał was supposed to hit it, but he overdid it a bit”
Piasecki asked the journalists what, in their opinion, was behind Michał Dworczyk's “hitting his head against the wall” – was it mainly a personal dislike for Zbigniew Ziobro, or rather a factional play? Mateusz Morawieckiof which Dworczyk is one of the leaders.
According to Maja Wójcikowska, there are both reasons behind Dworczyk's attitude. She said that apart from personal animosities, what may be important is how Mateusz Morawiecki's faction will act in a situation where the party's vice-presidents will most likely include Zbigniew Ziobro and Patryk Jaki.
– And there is a question how much of this split element is there, because it is said that 20-30 (MPs) could leave PiS – she pointed out.
