On Saturday morning, a fire broke out in an abandoned tenement house in Praga Północ. The source of the fire is in the attic. There is heavy smoke and flames extend to the roof of the building.
According to senior captain Wojciech Kapczyński from the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Warsaw, the report about the fire in the tenement house at 11 Wileńska Street was received at 8.22. The building is vacant.
– The source of the fire is in the attic. The situation is not under control yet. The flames are rising to the roof and there is a lot of smoke, Kapczyński said.
A thick cloud of smoke is visible from distant parts of the city.
The firefighter added that there was no information about any injuries. – One person who was in the vacant building left it on his own. The firefighting operation is ongoing. Nine fire brigades were dispatched to the site, Kapczyński said.
