When to retire in 2025? Remember about the indexation of pensions in June

It is impossible to determine when is the best time to retire in 2025 because it depends, among other things, on: from the month of birth, the moment of termination of the contract in work and the contribution period. However, there are several factors to consider when retiring. One of them is the annual indexation of pension contributions on the accounts and sub-accounts of insured persons in June. Pension contributions and initial capital in accounts in ZUS will increase, so people born by May 31 should wait until June to apply for a pension.

The second important issue is retiring after our birthday. Should not be submitted application apply for a pension several months earlier, before reaching retirement age, as it will be rejected. Then you will have to submit the application again anyway. The earliest this can be done is one month before your birthday.

Retirement in 2025. You can receive a salary and a pension at the same time

To retire, you must first terminate your employment contract and wait for your employment certificate. The contract must be terminated two days before the end of the month. Then, but also by the end of the month, you must submit an application for a pension, together with an employment certificate. It is worth doing this because then we will receive remuneration from work as well as a retirement benefit.

It is worth knowing that everyone who finishes work and retires is entitled to a one-off retirement severance pay. Life expectancy tables published by the Central Statistical Office should also be taken into account. It is on their basis that ZUS determines the amount of the benefit. If life expectancy increases, the amount of the pension decreases.
