The United Cup is a unique event in the tennis calendar. National teams composed of both women and men take part in it. So far, two editions have been held and each time the Polish team achieved good results. In 2023 she reached semi-finalin which it lost to the United States. In the next edition, hopes will be high again, because Iga Świątek and Hubert Hurkacz are scheduled to compete.

They were both among the six-person Poles participating in the competition. Apart from them, there are also: Alicja Rosolska, Maja Chwalińska, Kamil Majchrzak and Jan Zieliński. Tournament will start on December 27 with group meetings. And who did the Poles encounter?
The drawing took place on Monday. As reported on the official tournament profile on the X platform, Poland was in group B together with Norway and the Czech Republic. This means that there may be exciting clashes between Iga Świątek and Karolina Muchova or Hubert Hurkacz and Casper Ruud. Especially the first of the potential duels may ignite great emotions among fans. Muchova has been in great shape lately. She advanced to the semi-finals of the US Open and the WTA 500 tournament in Ningbo, but in Beijing she lost only in the final. The match against Świątek will undoubtedly be a big hit.
A total of 18 national teams will take part in the competition. They were assigned to six groups of three teams each. Three groups (A, C and E) will play in Perth, and three (B, D, F) will play in Sydney. The United States and Canada were placed in Group A, and the third participant will be selected based on the combined WTA and ATP rankings. In group C we will see Greece, Kazakhstan and Spain, in group D: Italy, France and Switzerland, in group E: China, Brazil and the defending champions Germany, and in group F: Great Britain and Australia, and we have not yet named the third team. The winners of each group and the two best runners-up will advance to the knockout phase. The final is scheduled for January 5, 2025.
