Dangerous items were found in candy collected during Halloween in several places in Poland. In a town near Gorzów Wielkopolski, one of the children received candy with a nail inside. In Pyrzyce (West Pomeranian Voivodeship), a child was eating his gifts in the evening and came across pins in them. In Gniezno, an 11-year-old boy found a needle in the candy he received. The police are handling the cases.
The boy, whose mother reported to the police, was collecting sweets in one of the towns near Gorzów. As the woman says in an interview with gorzowianin.com, her son “almost broke a tooth.” “It's a tiny nail, but I don't even want to think what would happen if he swallowed it. I'm devastated, I'm losing faith in people. I didn't sleep all night because of this situation. The residents are shocked, after all, we live in a small community, we all know each other ” – says Mrs. Izabela, quoted by the portal. She announced that she would notify the police.
Nail in the candy
Such a report has been received. This was confirmed by Grzegorz Jaroszewicz, press spokesman for the police in Gorzów Wielkopolski. – According to the information I received, operations are underway at the police station in Gorzów. We were contacted by the guardian of a child who was about to receive candy containing a nail. We will determine who is responsible for this. This will be classified as Art. 160 of the Penal Code, i.e. exposing a person to danger – informs the policeman.
Candy pin
Senior sergeant Paulina Stój, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Pyrzyce, informs that on Friday a notification was received about candies in which pins were found. The case was reported by the mother of a child who was collecting Halloween candy and, while eating it in the evening, came across a pin.
The policewoman says that nothing happened to the child, and witnesses were interviewed today. It has not yet been determined how dangerous the item was in the sweets.
Needle in candy
In the evening, there was also information from Gniezno. There, a similar incident occurred in the Skiereszewo housing estate. “The boy received candy with a needle inside. The child came across it this afternoon when he wanted to eat the gift,” the police said.
This case was also reported by the mother of an 11-year-old child.
The police also appeal to parents, residents of Gniezno and the Gniezno district, to carefully review the contents of gifts received by their children during Halloween.
Information about sweets containing metal elements also appeared in other parts of the country on Friday. Among others, pins were found in Kościan in the Greater Poland Voivodeship. However, in this case, the police have not yet received an official report.
