Head of the National Security Bureau, Jacek Siewiera: official opening of the anti-missile base in Redzikowo on Wednesday

The anti-missile base in Redzikowo will be officially opened on November 13, announced the head of the National Security Bureau, Jacek Siewiera.

It will be Wednesday this week – Jacek Siewiera informed Polsat News on Monday.

The head of the National Security Bureau also informed that the president would participate in this event together with the highest representatives of the state, including: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense WƂadysƂaw Kosiniak-Kamysz and representatives of the North Atlantic Alliance.

Under NATO command

– This is a US Navy base, but a very interesting feature is that it is assigned to the NATO command, EUCOM, i.e. the command of American forces in Europe. As an American base, it carries out transatlantic defense tasks by knocking down air and ballistic attack means of the highest level, maneuvering from areas outside the Euro-Atlantic area, in a very broad sense – explained the head of the National Security Bureau.

The conclusions of the July NATO summit in Washington declared the operational readiness of the anti-missile base in Redzikowo. The database is an element of the American European Phased Adaptive Approach (EPAA), which is a contribution USA in the NATO integrated air and missile defense system. Also during the July summit, the then Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg announced that the base in Redzikowo, which is part of the NATO anti-missile shield, is ready to start the mission.
