Poland and its existence were a guarantor of stability and this was shown by World War II. Its breaking was the beginning of a cataclysm, said Andrzej Duda during the National Independence Day celebrations at Piłsudski Square in Warsaw. The president also said that “world order” requires Ukraine to return to its borders before the 2014 invasion.
– Today we are part of the free world not only in the cultural sense, but also in the political sense – he emphasized Andrzej Duda during Monday's National Independence Day celebrations at Piłsudski Square in Warsaw. – We are part of great national communities, the European Union, but above all NATO – added the president.
Duda said that “we are the keystone in all these communities.” – Today, all allies understand this, including… USAwhich guarantee safety – he emphasized.

The president emphasized that “it is a pipe dream, as some people think, that today Europe is able to ensure its own security.” – For the security of Europe and the world, it is necessary to strengthen Euro-Atlantic ties – he emphasized. – If we are strong and responsible, there will be peace in our part of Europe and an independent, sovereign Republic of Poland will last, Duda said.
The president spoke about respecting the territorial integrity of all countries, above all Ukrainewhich – as he emphasized – “must return to its borders from before the Russian attack, not only the one in 2022, but also the first one in 2014.” – This is what security, world order and compliance with international law require – Duda emphasized.

Celebration of the National Independence Day with the participation of, among others, President Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda, Speaker of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia and the Marshal of the Senate Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska began at noon in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw.
In the Belvedere Palace, President Duda presented state decorations and then went to the Temple of Divine Providence, where a holy mass was held for the homeland.

On November 11, Poland celebrates National Independence Day to commemorate the transfer of the supreme command of the Polish army to Józef Piłsudski by the Regency Council in 1918. The holiday was established by Sejm of the Republic of Poland in 1937, abolished in 1945 and restored in 1989 by law.
