There is a growing dispute within the coalition regarding the housing loan subsidy program. However, according to unofficial findings, work on a new form of support is already underway – “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna” reported on Wednesday.
According to the order of the Minister of Development Krzysztof Paszyk, supervision over the housing department at the Ministry of Energy and Technology has been disrupted. “The Polish People's Party will be responsible for the key area – social and market housing. Deputy Minister Tomasz Lewandowski from the New Left will only deal with tenants' rights and housing cooperatives, while deputy head of the ministry MichaÅ‚ Jaros from the Civic Platform will be responsible for monitoring, promotion and financing of housing.” – reminds in Wednesday's edition of “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”.
The daily writes that such a division of tasks is a blow to the plans of the New Left, which for months has been trying to manage the work of the housing department and thus have control over which housing programs will be implemented. However, according to the findings of “DGP”, the People's Party does not want to hand over the management of the housing department, because this is the only way they can continue to dictate conditions regarding loan subsidies, and after the resignation of Deputy Minister Jacek Tomczak, the matter also took on an ambitious dimension.
– A lot of energy went into promoting the Startup Loan. We argued that without it the market would collapse. It's hard for us to just give up on him now, an unnamed person told the newspaper PSL MP. “DGP” also reminded that WÅ‚adysÅ‚aw Kosiniak-Kamysz he has already announced on Radio Zet that The start-up loan will return in a new versionand its concept will be presented by Minister Paszyk. According to the PSL leader, this concept is to include more assumptions modeled on the Housing for the Young program, i.e. top-down limits to which the subsidy per square meter is applied.
Work on the housing program is ongoing
The daily also learned unofficially that the ministry is already working on a new project. – The housing department is responsible for it. It is a matter of weeks rather than months. We expect that a new solution will be prepared in the near future and will be able to be publicly presented – an interlocutor from MRIT told “DGP”. According to government assumptions the housing program would be launched in 2025.
The newspaper also reminds that support for such a project in the Sejm is still an open question. The coalition partners view the idea of a new solution with skepticism. – Poland 2050 is against all forms of subsidies for housing loans. We don't think this is a good idea. Nothing has changed in this matter – says “DGP”, the chairman of the Polish 2050 club, PaweÅ‚ Åšliz. He emphasizes that such solutions have already had a negative impact on the housing market and led to price increases, which is a source of profit for developers and banks.
He has been declaring his opposition to any form of loan subsidies for months Confederation and he has a similar opinion about subsidies for loans PIS. – (Safe 2% loan – ed.) has finally proven to us that it is not a good solution (ed.). We need to find a completely new mechanism, said the president at the end of October JarosÅ‚aw KaczyÅ„ski.
