Former PO MP accused of misappropriating over PLN 700,000

The irregularities that Jelenia Góra investigators accuse Neumann of occurred in 2010-2021, when the politician was an MP. The spokeswoman of the District Prosecutor's Office in Jelenia Góra, Prosecutor Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, announced on Tuesday that according to the findings of the prosecutor's office and CBANeumann misappropriated funds entrusted to him as a public official, in the total amount of over PLN 700,000. PLN, spending it on purposes unrelated to running a parliamentary office. – He confirmed untruths in documents, in the form of reports submitted to the Chancellery of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland on the expenditure of the lump sum amount allocated for running the parliamentary office for particular years – said prosecutor Węglarowicz-Makowska.

Neumann, according to the prosecutor's office, also allegedly certified untruths in the forms on which fares are settled, the so-called “kilometers”. “He indicated false, inflated amounts allegedly spent for purposes related to the parliamentary office and inflated the number of kilometers traveled,” the spokeswoman said. The prosecutor stated that, taking into account the payments made by Neumann to the bank account of the parliamentary office during the period covered by the proceedings, the final amount of damage caused by the defendant's actions was set at PLN 590,000. zloty.

The former MP is also accused of irregularities in asset declarations for 2015-2016. According to investigators, Neumann, among others, lowered by 20 thousand PLN the amount of cash held in 2015. He also concealed the fact that he owned a vehicle purchased in 2016, together with his wife. Additionally, in his asset declaration for 2016, he did not disclose his financial liability in the form of a bank loan in the amount of PLN 30,000. The indictment was sent to the District Court in Warsaw.
