Lewandowski talks honestly about retirement
Robert Lewandowski, injured, did not play in the last two matches of the bitter autumn of Polish football. Although this topic is not often raised, it should be borne in mind that such scenarios may occur more and more often. Until they finally become the sad reality of every training camp.
Lewandowski turned 36 in August and not every player of this age is able to withstand the demands of intense football. This issue was recently brought to the attention of Forbes, which in a conversation with the Pole asked him about the end of his career approaching every day.
– Judging by his start to this season, Lewandowski has no intention of slowing down. What did the captain of the White and Reds have to say on this matter?
– If you are mentally prepared for retirement, there will be no problem with starting a new life, a different life. I don't want to say which one will be better. But I think that my life after the end of my career will also be beautiful – he replied.
He also referred to the specific location of his career ending in time. – At my age, I know that soon – two, three years, I don't know exactly – it will end, it will end. “I will wake up one day and feel that I don't want to go to training, that will be the first moment to start thinking about retirement,” he admitted.
