“Hello, is anyone here? We're leaving, let's go,” you can hear in the recording made available to the police. Officers from Bydgoszcz broke down the door, entered the smoke-filled apartment and took out two people who were unable to move. Everything was recorded by a police camera.
On Thursday, the officer on duty received a report about smoke coming from one of the buildings at Skorupki Street in Bydgoszcz. Junior sergeants were dispatched to the site. Mateusz Ribszleger and Senior Sgt. Karol Rygielski.
– The patrol went to the indicated street. On site, they noticed a tenement house with smoke coming out of it. Then, after efficiently reconnoitring the property, they determined the exact room where the threat occurred. One of the officers broke down the door, said the superintendent. Przemysław Słomski from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Bydgoszcz.

They saved a woman and a man
When the police entered, they noticed a woman lying in the corridor who was unable to move.
– The officers got her outside. During this time, they received information that there was also a second person in the room. The police started checking again. It turned out that next to the corridor there was another room slightly closed by a door. Looking inside, the policeman noticed a lying man and a source of fire, Słomski added.
The man was unable to move on his own. The policeman dragged the injured man into the corridor, and then, together with firefighters, they got him outside.
The injured woman and man were taken to the care of paramedics. According to the press officer, their lives are not in danger.
