Law and Justice politicians are doing everything to convince voters that this will be an independent candidate – Arleta Zalewska, a journalist of “Fakty” TVN, said on TVN24, referring to Sunday's event in Krakow, where PiS, headed by Jarosław Kaczyński, is to announce support for the candidate for president in next year's elections. The meeting – as the party argues – is to be “civic” in nature.
Today, the PiS convention will be held in Krakow, during which, according to the announcement, the party will announce its decision regarding support for the non-party presidential candidate. According to unofficial information, he will be the head of the Institute of National Remembrance Karol Nawrocki.

TVN “Fakty” journalist Arleta Zalewska, who is in Krakow, reported in the “Press Box” on TVN24 that “for several hours, PiS politicians have been doing everything, both in social media and in unofficial conversations, to convince voters that there will be is an independent candidate.
Zalewska quoted MP Jan Mosiński's entry, in which he wrote: “in the media, please emphasize that the meeting in Krakow is of a civic, social nature and anyone could sign up for it through parliamentary offices.” “This is not a party meeting, but a citizens' congress,” Mosiński said in the entry quoted by Zalewska. The entry has already been deleted.
– There are more such entries, they are supposed to be representatives of various environments, historical, social, economic and, by the way, there are also PiS politicians – Zalewska reported, adding that the event in Krakow is fully organized by Law and Justice. The journalist of “Fakty” TVN mentioned that the event was “organized at the last minute”. Zalewska also confirmed that “according to all information” the candidate supported by PiS in next year's presidential elections will be Karol Nawrocki.
Kmita shows the room. “Almost everything ready”
PiS MP Łukasz Nawrocki published on the X platform a photo of an empty room where the PiS convention is to be held. The group's logo is not visible in the photo. “In Krakow, almost everything is ready in the Sokół hall! We are looking forward to the start of the “Poland-Future” Citizens' Convention, where we will meet the candidate for the President of the Republic of Poland,” wrote Kmita. “We have many months of work ahead of us, but in the end there will be victory,” the politician added in the entry.
The Prime Minister commented on Sunday's PiS event Donald Tusk. “The candidate indicated today by President Kaczyński will be 'non-party and civic'. There are no PiS candidates willing to run, even in PiS. And that's hardly surprising,” wrote the head of government.
