– We have until the end of the year to choose the candidate who, in our opinion, will be the best – said Magdalena Biejat, deputy speaker of the Senate, in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24. – We will be prepared for this start – she assured.
Magdalena Biejat from the Left Club reminded in “Fakty po Faktach” that the official campaign before next year's presidential elections has not been announced yet. – We have until the end of the year to choose the candidate we think will be the best. And our task is to choose a person who, above all, will run the best campaign possible, because that is what we care about, a campaign that will convince Poles to join the Left, assured the deputy speaker of the Senate.
Biejat noted that in her party she has “plenty” of favorites, while on the Left “we have a lot to choose from” and this choice “is not easy.” She admitted that her name “also comes up”, just like the names Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk Whether Katarzyna Kotula.

Biejat did not comment on the issue of potential names because – as she said – she “does not want to open a stock exchange”. – You will soon find out who our candidate is. “Personal names alone don't change much”

– This role of the Left can be seen, for example, in the Sejm – Biejat added, recalling her party's project regarding a free Christmas Eve. As she said, the Left is fighting for “people to be able to work with dignity, to have time to rest and to feel safe not only in the context of the border, but also in the context of how things function in Poland.” – This is the most important thing for us in this campaign – she emphasized.
Detention of the former chairman of the SLD
On Wednesday CBA detained six people in connection with an investigation conducted for several years under the supervision of the prosecutor's office. The case concerns economic crimes. Among those detained is Wojciech O., former chairman of SLD and former Minister of Agriculture.
Biejat stated that her party did not “know the details of this case” and she had not had the opportunity to “meet Wojciech O personally.” At the same time, the deputy speaker of the Senate admitted that “each such case should be explained and the guilty punished.”
