He also expressed hope that cooperation between the two countries would strengthen.

Conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan

The conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan continues since both countries gained independence after the collapse of the USSR, i.e. from the beginning of the 1990s. This results, among others, from from the historical events and geographical distribution of the Armenian and Azerbaijani population.
