In investigations related to the GetBack scandal, 131 people were charged. She filed indictments against 98 of them, prosecutor Mateusz Martyniuk, spokesman for the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, said on Friday. He added that over 9.2 thousand entities, both natural and legal persons, were injured in the proceedings.

Martyniuk also recalled that several dozen threads have been investigated and clarified in the case. Most of them involve causing significant property damage to GetBack by making incorrect management and investment decisions. These decisions included, among others: on concluding agreements that are specious or extremely unfavorable for the company, including, for example, the purchase of EGB Investments shares at an inflated price, or signing a framework agreement with Trigon TFI for the provision of debt portfolio services.

Other aspects of the case concern, among others: fraud to the detriment of Idea Bank's customers when selling GetBack bonds and investment certificates of Trigon TFI funds without appropriate permission, as well as actions to the detriment of Idea Bank. The case also examines the purchase of debt portfolios at inflated prices by investment funds belonging to the GetBack Capital Group.

In turn, as part of separate proceedings, issues regarding the correctness of the activities of auditors examining GetBack's separate and consolidated statements are clarified.

The subject of the investigation is also the assessment of the performance of official duties by public officials employed in institutions competent to supervise the capital market and competition and consumer protection, as well as those taking action during the GetBack accelerated arrangement proceedings.

It is also subject to procedural verification leading to unfavorable disposal of property significant value of purchasers of bonds issued by other companies with personal and capital links to the former president of the management board of GetBack and issuing and using unreliable VAT invoices.

“As part of the ongoing proceedings, due to the scale of identified irregularities and the number of victims The sale of bonds through Idea Bank takes a special place“- said prosecutor Martyniuk. He recalled that prosecutors had submitted 10 extensive indictments to the courts.

– Court proceedings regarding GetBack and entities and persons associated with it are pending not only in the District Court in Warsaw, but also before courts in Lublin, Łódź, Poznań, Katowice, Szczecin and Kraków. So far, the courts have issued verdicts convicting 11 defendants, some of them have become final, including absolute prison sentences – said prosecutor Martyniuk.

He emphasized that pre-trial arrests are no longer used in ongoing cases, but preventive measures of a liberty nature are still applied, including: property guarantees in amounts up to PLN 5 million, police supervision, as well as a ban on leaving the country combined with confiscation of a passport.

– Files of all registered proceedings regarding the so-called GetBack scandals number over 10,000. volumes. 46 expert expert opinions were obtained in these cases. Extensive secured documentation and electronic media relating to all aspects of the activities of GetBack and its related entities are subject to successive inspection and time-consuming analyses, said prosecutor Martyniuk.
