Karol Nawrocki visited Lądek-Zdrój on Saturday. The Law and Justice candidate for president criticized the government, spoke about the need for solidarity with the flood victims and – as can be seen in the photos published by the head of his election team – carried bags. During a morning meeting with the media, he introduced his son.

Karol Nawrocki met on Saturday morning with the residents of Lądek-Zdrój, which suffered during the September flood. The “civic” candidate supported by PiS attacked the current government. – I came with an important message so that you do not doubt the Polish state. We all know who is responsible for the chaos and bad forecasts (…) fortunately, the state functions thanks to us, the citizens. When the authorities cannot cope, solidarity is born, he said.

“Performance of duties is in a deplorable state”

The head of the Institute of National Remembrance pointed out that politicians should be in flood areas. – The deputy head of the Platform and the minister responsible for flood areas should be here with the people and perform his duties. Meanwhile, politicians are preparing a laser show (…) a political show, and the performance of duties is in a deplorable state – said Karol Nawrocki.

The candidate pointed out that the state does not recognize all the costs incurred as a result of the flood. – Among other things, the houses of construction workers were destroyed. Now they take care of their own property, so they cannot provide their services elsewhere. Therefore, specialists must be brought from other areas of the country and hotels and meals must be paid for. The state does not notice these costs, he criticized.

Moments before the press conference, the head of Karol Nawrocki's electoral staff, Paweł Głosernaker from PiS, published a photo of the candidate carrying bags (with mortar or cement) in one of the buildings. Nawrocki's statement “I came here to work” was attached to the entry.

The difficulties of the pre-campaign and the question about knowing a gangster

Karol Nawrocki told during the conference that he “left at one in the morning” to get to Lądek-Zdrój. – Then I'm going further, to Lublin. There I meet with young people and I will talk about what they would expect from me. And then more meetings. So I started at one in the morning and will probably finish late in the evening. And then tomorrow morning we will continue working, he said.

He was accompanied by his son during the press conference. – He doesn't leave me, he wanted to be with me. I can always count on him, and he can count on me. He said: Dad, if possible, let's be together, so we are together – he noted.

The journalists gathered at the site asked Karol Nawrocki about his acquaintance with Olgierd O., alias: Olo, a Tricity gangster with whom – according to media reports – the candidate may know.

– This man took part in patriotic celebrations that I organized. I have public relations with him, the same as I have with many thousands of Polish men and women (…) I recognize some of them from his face, some I already know, some I will meet in the future. These were always public reports, he emphasized.

Journalists also asked about the candidate's position on the abortion compromise. – I am a Christian, a Catholic. However, I am against ideological wars on the streets of Polish cities. All sensitivities are important to me. The end of the Polish-Polish war is something I care about very much, he said.
