What happened: Sejm adopted the Budget Act for 2025, which provides for: higher salaries for the most important people in the country. If Andrzej Duda If he signs it, he may gain a lot because he will receive a higher severance package after the end of his term.

A raise is coming: According to the budget act, the president, prime minister and his ministers, deputy ministers, as well as the speakers of the Sejm and Senate will receive 5%. increase in the base amount. Currently it is 1 thousand PLN 789 and 42 gr.

How much will the president gain? According to art. 2a of the Act on the remuneration of the most important persons in the state, “the remuneration of the President consists of: remuneration basic allowance corresponding to 9.8 times the basic amount and a functional allowance corresponding to 4.2 times the basic amount.” Therefore Duda's current salary is PLN 25,000. PLN 52 gross (without service allowance). If the president adopts the budget act, from January 1 the base amount will be 1 thousand PLN 878 and 89 groszywhich means his salary will increase to 26 thousand 304 thousand zloty.

What else will the president gain? Andrzej Duda will benefit twice on this solution, because after the end of his term he will also receive a higher severance pay. According to the law, after the end of his term of office, he will receive three months' salary, so the severance pay will amount to approx. 78.9 thousand zlotyand thanks to the introduced increase it will be higher by approximately PLN 4,000. zloty.

What about the bill? The budget act adopted by the Sejm on December 6 it will now go to the Senate. If it passes the legislative path, it will go to the president's desk for signature.
