This is not how Polish jumpers imagined the start of the World Cup season. Their poor form was confirmed by Saturday's competition in Wisła. Our best, Paweł Wąsek, took only 11th place. Four of them advanced to the second round, while Kamil Stoch, Maciej Kot and Piotr Żyła broke their jumps and started after the first round.

– Well, you have to chase, as always, right? – asked Aleksander Zniszczoł in response to one of the journalists' remark that the world has run away. “Weren't you the ones who used to set the tone?” – this journalist asks. “Oh yes, yes. We have to look for reserves. Maybe there will be something somewhere” – said the jumper, quoted by Łukasz Jachimiak from Sport.pl.
Apart from Wąsek, Jakub Wolny could also be distinguished on Saturday, who was 29th and scored his first points since March 2022. But the other jumpers were disappointing, it must be said straight. Thomas Thurnbichler, however, was a bit off as he decided to compliment them and also justify Aleksander Zniszczoł's second weaker jump… too much pressure.
“Once again: if our jumpers are making any steps in the right direction, they are tiny steps. And in the foreground of this white and red background, others are having a great time. And it will be like that on Sunday, although Thurnbichler believes that this Sunday is the “it may be for us that then two of his people can be in the top 10, and from that moment we can stop being in the background,” Jachimiak continued.

The sixth competition of the World Cup season will take place on Sunday, December 8. Qualifying will start at 13:45, and as many as 66 competitors will appear on the start list, including nine Poles. The following will sit on the beam: Andrzej Stękała, Kacper Juroszek, Maciej Kot, Piotr Żyła, Jakub Wolny, Kamil Stoch, Dawid Kubacki, Aleksander Zniszczoł and Paweł Wąsek.
