Garage tax lower: In just a few weeks, on January 1, 2025, regulations will come into force changing the way of calculating the so-called garage tax. It's been a lot of mess so far. A different rate was paid for the garage that is part of it real estateone when the garage is a separate property, and another for parking spaces. From next year these the regulations will be sorted out.
How much will the tax be? Tax for garages in residential buildings we will pay the same amount as tax on real estate, which is indexed annually. This means garage owners from next year they will pay much less for them. The real estate tax is PLN 1.19 per square meter. However, the maximum amount that should be paid, according to the old regulations, is PLN 11.48 per square meter. They will pay the same amount owners the so-called sheet metal buildings, i.e. detached garages.
It's worth hurrying: Importantly, this amount of tax will also be paid by “latecomers” who do not submit the IN-1 declaration at the commune office on time. In their case, the tax will be calculated “in the old way” and only later can a correction be requested. Form IN-1 must be submitted to the appropriate tax authority by the end of January at the latest.
