Drunk parents who “looked after” three children bit the intervening policemen. They will be responsible for endangering minors and violating the inviolability of uniformed officers.

On the night from Thursday to Friday, Lublin police officers received a report about a drunk man who was allegedly driving a baby stroller around the city. A patrol sent to the indicated place found him completely drunk on the street on May 1. He was carrying an 11-month-old child in a stroller.

– After a while, his wife appeared on the spot with their two older children, aged 11 and 14. The woman's condition also indicated alcohol consumption. During the intervention, both of them insulted and violated the bodily integrity of the policemen. They were very aggressive and agitated – said the superintendent. Kamil GoÅ‚Ä™biowski, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Lublin. – When the police tried to stop the couple, they were bitten by them. A breathalyzer test showed that the 38-year-old had over 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his body. It turned out to be impossible to check the woman's sobriety, so her blood was taken for testing, he added.

Parents may be in serious trouble

The parents were sent to a police cell to sober up. They were waiting for the charges to be presented. With the court's consent, the children were transferred to the care of their aunt.

Citizens Ukraine will be responsible for exposing children to a direct threat of loss of life or health, violating the inviolability of police officers, insulting and influencing activities. They could face up to five years in prison.
