A wave of frost has arrived over Europe. At the beginning of the week, thermometers in France and Spain, among others, even showed -12 degrees Celsius. Air masses from the northern part of the Old Continent are responsible for cooling. According to forecasts, the frosty weather may last for several days.
The frost was felt, among others, by residents of the city of Cuellar in the northern Spanish province of Segovia. On the night from Sunday to Monday, -10 degrees Celsius was recorded there, and from Monday to Tuesday, as much as -12 degrees Celsius. The Spanish agency Aemet wrote on social media that this morning was “the frostiest so far this winter.”
Cold air masses also reached France, where double-digit frosts were recorded in places.
– I'm wearing two pairs of pants, a jacket, a sweater… I'm doing fine. I'm most worried about my hands, but you get used to it, says one of the French living in Macon in the east of the country.

According to forecasts, the wave of frost will continue over France and Spain until the middle of this week. The Spanish meteorological agency has issued yellow and orange freezing temperature alerts for central and northeastern regions. The minimum temperature may drop to -10 degrees Celsius.
