On the initiative of the Minister of the Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak and Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar, a government committee will be appointed, which will deal with all cases of abuse of power to democratic activists in 2016-2023 – the spokesman of the Ministry of the Interior said Jacek Dobrzyński on Monday.
Dobrzyński reported to X that work on the appointment of a committee has been going on for several weeks and are finalized.
“Every case of abuse of power for political purposes will be explained and settled, especially when the procedure of police, services and prosecutor's office did not bring the result and the proceedings were closed” – he noted.
He informed the initiators of the commission's creation are the heads of the departments: internal affairs and administration and justice. A spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior also announced that the committee will include lawyers representing victims and representatives of civil society.
The information was also confirmed by the head of the Ministry of Justice. “Together with Tomasz Siemoniak, we hope that it will lead to strengthening civil society,” Bodnar wrote on Monday on the X. According to the announcement, the Commission will deal with all cases of abuse of power to democratic activists in 2016-2023.
In the period that the commission will be examined, it ruled United right. There were numerous social protests in these years. Among them, among others Protests against judicial reforms, women's strike, and demonstrations in defense of TVN and free media.
