Letter to the media and the Prime Minister
Agata Adamek said that the president's letter to the prime minister “actually at the same moment” was leaked to the media and landed on Donald Tusk's desk. – It wasn't that the president had sent this letter earlier, that any talks had started, or that any consultations had begun. Basically, the letter was sent both to the media as a leak and to Prime Minister Donald Tusk at the same time – said the journalist.
She added that “the prime minister's entourage says that if it weren't for this letter from the president, there would probably not have been a government resolution regarding Netanyahu. She also recalled that the prime minister's office “dismissed journalists' questions” about Netanyahu's possible visit with one sentence: “let's not talk about a hypothetical situation, “He's not going to Poland.”
“This letter is one of the most serious mistakes of the entire presidency.”
Piotr Kraśko, in turn, said that the Washington Times published “a very strong article criticizing Deputy Minister Bartoszewski, who, according to the Washington Times, announced that Benjamin Netanyahu would be arrested if he came to Poland.” – Bartoszewski explained that he didn't say anything like that and actually at this stage the matter was somewhat over – reported the journalist.
– This letter is one of the most serious mistakes of Andrzej Duda's entire presidency. Making this matter public like this really shouldn't have happened, Kraśko said. Radomir Wit, in turn, stated that “the ruling coalition interprets this as an attempt to throw the first hurdle under the current coalition's feet when it comes to building relations with the new American administration.”
Tusk: there are matters that should be handled discreetly
Civic Coalition MP Marcin Bosacki also commented on the matter on Sunday in “Fakty po Faktach”. According to him, this one The “mini-crisis” was caused by President Andrzej Duda“disregarding Polish national interests regarding a possible, theoretical visit of the Prime Minister of Israel.” – The government has been working quietly with the Israelis on this to prevent any theoretical mishaps – said the MP.
