Barack Obama posted a list of the music he’s listening to this summer on social media on Monday evening. The unusual post turned out to be a hit, viewed tens of millions of times in less than 24 hours, and sparked discussions not only about the former US president’s taste in music.
“As summer comes to an end, I wanted to share some of the songs I've been listening to lately,” he said. Barack Obama in a Monday post on the X platform. “And it wouldn't be my playlist if it didn't include an eclectic (combining different styles and elements – ed.) mix. I hope you'll find something new to listen to!” – added the former president USA.

The list includes dozens of songs recorded by artists from different generations. The unusual post of the former US president is enjoying huge popularity on the web – in just the first 20 hours it was viewed over 35 million times and gathered thousands of comments. For comparison, the statement published a week earlier, in which Barack Obama expressed his support for Kamala Harris' candidate for vice president, Tim Walz, has been viewed on X about 27 million times so far.

Barack Obama and “brother summer”
The former president's post also sparked comments about more than just his taste in music. The list included the song “365” by the incredibly popular singer Charli XCX. “Even Obama can't resist Brat Summer,” Pitchfork said on Monday.
The term “brat summer” literally means “brat summer” or “brat summer” and refers to Charli XCX's latest album titled “Brat”. However, the term was linked to Kamala Harris in July, when Charli XCX stated that “Kamala is a brother”. Soon, many memes about the vice presidentallegedly experiencing her “brat summer”. As the artist explained on TikTok during the album's premiere, she uses the term “brat” to describe a girl who is “a little scatterbrained, likes to have fun and sometimes might say a few stupid things”. – (She's a girl) who is herself.
