Big layoffs: In August, an American technology company Pitney Bowes reported her intention to be fired 47 people In plant in Bielsko-Biała in the period from October 2024 to January 2025. In November, a local plant specializing in the production of sports equipment Horizon Sport reported his intention to be fired 39 people in the period from December 2024 to February 2025. In December, reductions were reported by: a company offering photovoltaic farms Edison Next Poland (55 people will lose his job in January 2025), a French giant producing technologically advanced solutions made of rubber and plastics Hutchinson (80 employees in the period from January to December 2025) and an automotive concern Shiloh Industries (181 people in the period from February to December 2025).
Severance pay agreement: Trade unions have reached an agreement on the terms of departures at Shiloh Industries in Bielsko. Employees are to receivemaximum – considering the company's situation – severance pay ratesfar better than the statutory provisions,” said Piotr Górny, chairman of the Inter-Enterprise Trade Union Organization of NSZZ “Solidarność” at Bulten Polska-Shiloh. However, in the context of layoffs in Hutchinson, trade unionists will negotiate severance pay higher than the statutory one.
